‘American Idol’ notes: David Archuleta, Phillip Phillips, Adam Lambert

For our Tuesday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, the stories we have to share are both small and significant — they are quick to read, but also things you have to be aware of if you are a fan of a couple of contestants in particular.

David Archuleta’s album is here! – If you are a big fan of the season 7 star, then you should be┬árather┬áthrilled to know that “BEGIN” has now been released. So where can you pick it up? The best place you can go is David’s official website for more information, though you can also find it on iTunes.

The album is stuffed full of some of David’s favorite cover songs, and in the video below you can get yet another glimpse into why he chose some of the tracks that he did for the disc — including some hits from Cyndi Lauper and a personal favorite in Peter Gabriel. Even though David is away on a Mission for the next year and a half, can’t well all still do what we can to support him through his music?

Phillip’s video premiere – It’s possible that you may have already seen the reigning champion’s music video for “Home,” but Nigel Lythgoe is doing the guy a solid by also giving it a broadcast premiere during Wednesday night’s new episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.” When you consider how heavily-used the song was in the Olympics by the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, this really does seem to be a case of perfect timing.

Adam is back! – For those of you wondering where Adam went after announcing he was “off the grid” for a few days, he’s now revealed it to be the popular vacation spot known as Cabo San Lucas. It wasn’t much of a break for the season 8 star, but he still has a lot on his plate this year — especially if he does end up becoming a judge on “American Idol” season 12.

To check out some more recent news related to Phillip’s runner-up Jessica Sanchez, be sure to check out our Monday evening “notes” over at this link.
