Jon Snow has been separated from most of the fellow characters on “Game of Thrones” over the past two seasons, and it really looks at this point like that is going to continue courtesy of what he is up to Beyond the Wall in season 3. The only real difference is that now, he has a new companion outside of the members of the Night’s Watch — he instead has Ygritte, a Wilding who has more or less captured him in order to take him to see the infamous King Beyond the Wall. We know that this is going to happen during the upcoming season, so with that in mind actress Rose Leslie telling MTV News in a newly-published interview that her character and Jon are going to go on an “adventure” Beyond the Wall is really more or less a moot point.
What we find a little bit more intriguing at the moment is seeing what Leslie has to say about what it is like filming these scenes with Kit Harrington in an environment as isolated as Iceland can be outside of the cities:
“We’re good friends. Hopefully that translated onto the screen … specially with Ygritte teasing him so much, she just loves to mock him. We had a lot of fun with that during the rehearsal. [The characters] are just so much fun to play, and the writing is just brilliant.”
Is there going to be a romance here at some point? While there have been a few teases here and there on the show, only those who have read the books are really going to know the answer here. Falling for Ygritte could actually be one of the smarter things that Jon could do at this point, though — especially if she manages to return the feelings, since he would probably ensure his safety for at least a little while.
