Only mere hours before Sharon Osbourne pretty much confirmed that she was leaving “America’s Got Talent,” the judge and longtime friend of executive producer Simon Cowell is making one thing clear — she intends on seeing the rest of the season through before finally saying goodbye to the panel.
In a series of posts on Twitter about her exit — which is due to what she feels was an “unfair” decision regarding her son Jack not being cast on fellow NBC show “Stars Earn Stripes” — Sharon did her best to differentiate her beef with the network and her feelings for those she works alongside on a weekly basis:
“Please don’t misunderstand. I love
@nbcagt w/ all my heart and will of course finish out the season. It is still one of the best shows on tv. I love @nbcagt @howiemandel @HowardStern & @NickCannon. We have the world’s best crew. And most importantly, we have the best talent on tv.”
As for whether or not we could be seeing even more of an exodus from he panel, that remains to be seen. While both Cannon and Mandel have not given any indication that they will be stepping down following their respective stints on the show, the same cannot necessarily be said for Stern — who his probably going to weigh both his personal and financial options before figuring out for sure if he wants a second kick in the can. (Despite all of the publicity surrounding Howard joining the show, the ratings are actually down versus this time in 2011.)
Do you think that Sharon is doing the right thing in leaving a show based solely on her opinion about the network that airs it? We want to hear your thoughts below! To check out more on the fallout from her decision, be sure and check out the story here.
