‘America’s Got Talent’: Zuma Zuma, Team iLuminate advance

Who advanced?

America’s Got Talent” had a rather intense results show on Wednesday, primary since not every decision made by the voting public was altogether logical. A few simple mistakes doomed some former favorites, while one act no one saw coming made it all the way to the end of the before being sent home.

Group One

-Frank Miles

-Avery and the Calico Hearts

-Taylor Davis

-Fatally Unique

Out of this group, there were really only two worthy candidates in Frank Miles (who is brilliant, even though his stunt faltered) and Fatally Unique (who were great but not spectacular). Ultimately, America went the route of the dance crew on this one.

Group Two

-Zuma Zuma

-Yellow Design Stunt Team

This was probably one of the biggest surprises of the show yet. Both of these acts were actually pretty solid, but the voting public elected to keep around the acrobats (in Zuma Zuma) over a pretty stellar bike crew. Did one mistake end up dooming Yellow Design to this extent? Don’t fret — odds are we’ll see them in the wild-card show.

Group Three

-Team iLuminate

-Scott Alexander

-Sam B

This was the no-brainer of the night. Team iLuminate is arguably the best act of the live rounds so far, and it would have been the shock of the century if they did not move on.

Group Four

-Melissa Villasenor

-Charles Peachock

-The Kinetic King

This was actually a pretty interesting match-up. On one hand, Melissa was clearly the strongest performer of the night — at the same time, though, it is possible that the King’s hilariously awkward disaster brought on a flurry of sympathy votes.

Unfortunately for Kinetic fans, he was the first act sent home — leaving us with the comedienne and the juggler. Piers unsurprisingly picked Charles to advance, but the other two judges gave Melissa their votes, and comedy lives on for another round!

What do you think of the way America voted?
