One of the sttars from “The Real Housewives of New York City” has decided that they need a new reality TV experience — but it is not someone who is a part of the current cast.
According to a new report from TMZ, Alex McCord and her husband Simon Van Kempen — who was pretty much a cast member in his own right based on how often he found himself at the center of drama — are going to be appearing on the next season of VH1’s relationship series “Couples Therapy.” This is a show that will also feature the likes of “Teen Bride” Courtney Stodden and her 52-year old husband Doug Hutchison as they try and work out some issues in their relationships. Conflict here often reigns supreme, though it is also a show where reality stars compete to be as dramatic as possible in order to secure deals on future shows elsewhere. We know that Stodden specifically has been looking for a reality home for quite some time, while McCord is just now getting back into the spotlight less than a year after she and many other of her “Real Housewives” co-stars were fired by Bravo in one of the biggest cast shake-ups ever. (Based on some of the early numbers, though, it looks as though it may have actually been too much of a shake-up for the franchise’s own good.)
Are you surprised to see Alex and Simon on here, and do you think that this show is going to be entertaining at all? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! There’s no word on when “Couples Therapy” will premiere yet, but we’ll have more details when they are available.
