In addition to being a part of the highest-rated shows on cable, one of the other benefits about being a star of “The Walking Dead” is that whenever you do end up leaving the show (which is likely considering the death rate of its characters), you are going to have all sorts of other networks calling you up with casing opportunities. For Jeffrey DeMunn — who played Dale until his untimely (and rather shocking) death near the end of season 2, that has turned out to definitely be true.
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, DeMunn is set to guest star on the upcoming NBC drama “Chicago Fire” playing a part that is probably going to become synonymous with the Dick Wolf drama — a man who has to rely on one of the firefighters to be rescued. This new show features a number of young male actors that are probably going to draw attention, including Taylor Kinney of “The Vampire Diaries,” and they probably have at least a little bit more job security in comparison to the “Walking Dead” gang. Granted, they still probably have a few sleepless nights here and there considering that their job is literally walking into a fire on a near-regular basis and trying to save lives.
“The Walking Dead” has moved on following the passing of Dale, and season 3 is currently being filmed with a premiere date set for this fall during the always-profitable Halloween season. Stay tuned, as we are going to have plenty more coverage of this very subject.
