To help get you through even more of this rather insufferable hiatus away from “The Vampire Diaries,” we have a pair of tiny stories worth mentioning this fine weekend.
An extended run – Will an extra episode help to make up for the long wait? Let’s hope so.
According to a new report from Zap2It, The CW has actually ordered an episode for season 4 beyond the traditional 22, which naturally brings the total to 23. “Supernatural” is the only other show on the network with a similar sort of order, and some other shows to receive this sort of treatment over the years include the likes of “Grey’s Anatomy” and the majority of comedy series on television.
With the show premiering later this year on October 11, this extra episode is going to give us a season that has fewer weeks of repeats than ever from start to finish.
Ian Somerhalder speaks out – Should we read too much into a new Twitter comment from Ian this weekend? Probably not, based on what the actor is saying we can at least take solace in the fact that Damon Salvatore, despite being heartbroken over Elena and dealing with the fact that she is now a vampire, is going to be in many ways the same surly guy we have all come to love on the show:
“Sunday morn. Wrking on
#tvd scenes for the week Weekends: I’m a good brother, animal dad, son- weekdays? Im a prick vampire seducing all in sight”
Let’s just hope we see plenty of seductive Damon, and not much of the vampire who is sitting around and feeling sorry for himself after losing out at love.
