In an effort to try and establish as great of a connection as possible between season 9 of “The Office” and some of the show’s early years, producers behind the hit NBC drama have decided to enlist someone who should be more than a little bit familiar to fans — a certain ex of Pam Beesly.
According to a report from TVLine, David Denman is going to return to the hit NBC series as Roy, and will make an appearance during the second episode of the coming season. It’s really hard to see at this point, though, what purpose Roy could have in the world of Scranton — Pam is now married and has two kids, and the last we saw of the character he was trying to “win Pam back” in some ways that ended very badly before finally deciding to just throw in the towel.
Hopefully, this appearance will constitute some sort of update to show that Roy has matured a little bit over the years, moved on, and found some sort of happiness. A big of a jerk as the guy sometimes was to Pam and to Jim, We really don’t want to just see him live out the rest of his days in misery. With all of the change going on at the show — with several new faces joining the show and with David Wallace coming back — wouldn’t it be nice to see him undergoing a change, as well?
What do you think about Roy coming back, and what do you want to see happen with him? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! To check out more in the way of who is joining the show for the first time this season, be sure to visit the link here.
