‘Game of Thrones’ alum heads to ‘Body Of Proof’ for season 3 role

When you are on a show like “Game of Thrones,” you sometimes cannot expect to stick around for very long — after all, it’s pretty hard to survive when there is a war going on across the realm for the iron throne. However, just being on this show makes you pretty sought-after when it comes to getting other roles in the future. For evidence, all you have to do is ask Elyes Gabel.

According to a story from TVLine, Gabel has booked a new role on the upcoming third season of “Body of Proof” playing a cocky (but also very smart) detective named Adam Schaeffer. Co-showrunner Matthew Gross said the following about this character earlier on this year:

“[Adam] is a guy who thinks that he knows it all … He’s wise beyond his years, but doesn’t have the experience to back it up. And he might get himself in some trouble along the way for running his mouth off.”

Gabel’s arrival comes following a mass exodus of many of the Dana Delaney series’ primary cast members leaving the show in a creative shakeup that could reinvigorate the show and pick up more ratings among young people (which was why it was almost canceled this past May). Nicholas Bishop, Sonja Sohn, and John Caroll Lynch were three of the cast members pictured in this article who were let go.

For those of you who cannot match “Game of Thrones” actors up with names (which is understandable given the show’s massive cast), Gabel played one of Daenerys Targeryan’s primary protectors in Rakharo, but was killed off during the Qarth massacre in the show’s second season.

Do you think this is a casting that could very well benefit “Body of Proof” in a big way? To check out more in the way of spoilers for “Game of Thrones” season 3, be sure to follow the link here.
