‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev apologizes to Miley Cyrus

Mrs. Carter: Unsurprisingly, someone is now having to clear up some of their past comments.

Nina Dobrev has apparently heard enough from angry Miley Cyrus fans. If you remember earlier this week, the star of “The Vampire Diaries” made a joke in a magazine interview saying that she was not going to “pull a Miley” and get engaged at an early age.

With some of this backlash in mind, Nina chose to respond to some of this gossip courtesy of a new post on her Twitter account:

“Note to self, light hearted comments don’t always translate in magazine articles. Big fan of @Mileycyrus – do you need a flower girl?”

Although Nina did not mention him by name in this interview, she was clearly talking in some ways about her relationship with Ian Somerhalder — who she has been dating privately for over a year. Nina is 23 years old, whereas her beau is 33 and could be thinking about engagement at an earlier point of his life. If these two manage to find a way to the altar eventually, we have a feeling it will happen at a time when they are both ready for it — and who’s to say that Ian is at the moment just because he is older.

Nina and Ian are both currently in Atlanta, which is where “The Vampire Diaries” films its new episodes. We still do have a while to wait until the show returns on Thursday, October 11 for its season premiere — but we will have more in the of coverage before arriving to that point.

Do you think Nina did the right thing by apologizing, even if she did not have to by any means? Be sure and share your thoughts below! If you want to check out some more scoop when it comes to flashbacks and season 4, be sure to visit the link here.
