After an endurance challenge Thursday night in the “Big Brother 14” house that was in many way an endurance challenge to even cover (after all, it took nearly three hours), we have our first female Head of Household in this game — but considering that the coaches are in the game now, it’s safe to say that we are looking at a completely different sort of environment than anything we have seen before.
(Warning: the following contains spoilers from Thursday night.)
After Danielle end up securing the victory, it became pretty clear the people who will be safe all week:
-Her former coach Dan
-The man in Shane who is just not into her as much as she is into him
-Ian and Britney, who she made deals with in order to win the endurance challenge.
So who does Danielle actually want out? If she was thinking with her own mind, it seems as though her choices would be Wil and Janelle — with the reason for the latter being that she didn’t appreciate not being cheered on during the HoH challenge by her. (Yes, it’s a pretty silly reason to put someone on the block.) These are pretty smart choices, though, since she could either get rid of a coach or try to hurt this alliance a little bit.
However, Dan is pushing Danielle to actually work with Janelle and Ashley, and fold them into an alliance that already contains them along with Britney and Shane, and in turn put up Wil and Frank — who really would be gone from the game if not for the producers completely rigging it so that he would stay. Of course, Dan’s really just looking out for himself here — as long as he keeps himself under the radar, he knows that Janelle and Shane would both be bigger targets than him. Once they eventually are taken out, he would have a final four with himself, Danielle, Britney, and Ashley — and he could have a good shot at winning against any of them in challenges he tries hard to win.
Things are still early this week, though, and anything can happen. We’ll have more updates later in the day as some more of the houseguests wake up.
