We have seen some “Teen Mom” stars take on a variety of business ventures since finding fame thanks to the hit MTV reality show — but becoming an author is something new for Farrah Abraham.
In a press release Thursday, it was announced that Abraham’s new book — entitled “My Teenage Dream Ended” — is set to be released on August 14 (less than two weeks from today). While it may be surprising that someone of Farrah’s age is even writing a memoir, it’s appropriate once you consider her story. The book details her struggles with her family, her tough relationship at times with the father of her child Derek, and her reaction when she found out that Derek had tragically passed away in a shocking accident.
Here is what Farrah wrote about first hearing the news:
“I got off the phone and I tried to calm down, but my mind was racing. Derek was the father of the baby I was carrying inside me. He was my first love, my only true love. We hadn’t spoken in more than two months, but crazily I had still hoped we had a future together — me, him, and our baby, as one happy family. It’s every teenage girl’s dream, isn’t it? … Now Derek was gone forever, and so was my happy ending.”
Regardless of what your opinion may be of Farrah on “Teen Mom,” hopefully this book will give fans of the show an opportunity to see just how much of a struggle there is to being a young mother, and no amount of fame that comes from a television show can ever really make up for what she has lost.
