NBC apparently loved their commercial for “The Voice” so much the first time around during the Super Bowl, they have decided to use it all over again — with a little bit of an Olympic connection thrown in here for good measure.
In the video below, you can check out the “new” ad for the talent show’s third season, and up until the final few seconds of it, it will seem like the same sort of “battle” between Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green that we saw the first time around. But then, if you stick around to the final few seconds, you will see former Olympian Bruce Jenner make a joke about him having “bling” in comparison to some of Cee Lo’s fancy accessories.
Out of all the Olympians, it does seem strange in some ways that the network went with Bruce for this cameo — mostly because he’s really more well-known now for being the Kardashian family patriarch than anything else. However, it does make some sense from a business standpoint in that E! is owned by NBCUniversal, and Kim Kardashian cashes plenty of paychecks courtesy of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and all of its related spin-off shows. For Bruce, it was a way to keep his family in the news while having a little bit of fun with a gold medal in the process.
Season 3 of “The Voice” is set to debut on Monday, September 10 — which will give it a cushy two-week jumpstart over the All-Stars addition of “Dancing with the Stars.” While we have a feeling there will still be some good talent and memorable TV moments, there’s just not the some sort of buzz that there was around the show with it coming back so soon.
