“Doctor Who” may be a timeless tradition in many ways to folks on Great Britain, but in America the show is only continuing to gain in popular. Not only is the import the highest-rated series on BBC America, but season 6 was the most-watched season of any show in the history of the network. With all of this in mind, it’s fair to say that anticipation is high for the show to be back with new episodes.
Season 7 of the show — which once again features Matt Smith in the Doctor role, is set debut on both coasts at some point this fall, and the first trailer below gives us some idea as to what sort of trouble he is going to find himself in this coming year. There will be dinosaurs, giant robots, and pretty much everything else that we expect to be great on this show coming in our direction. More than anything else, the new season promises excitement.
For fans of actors Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, there may be more excitement this time around than ever before. This is the last collection of episodes for the two actors as series regulars, and then like the last Doctor in David Tennant, they will be moving on to other projects. There have been rumors that Smith was considering an exit from the series in order to pursue acting in Los Angeles, but he has responded to that by saying that he loves his job, and has no intentions to go anywhere else in the near future.
Does this trailer particular catch your eye in any way? Stay tuned — we’re going to have plenty more on the Doctor as we approach the start of the new season.
