It may have taken them a while, but now that Jessica Sanchez has finished in second place on “American Idol” and become an international superstar … she’s going to Disney World! Of course, she’s also been joined by the majority of her season 11 touring pals as she is helping to promote the theme park’s “American Idol” Experience attraction.
As revealed in multiple posts on Twitter Wednesday, there has been photographic evidence of everyone from Jessica to winner Phillip Phillips, the resident comedian Heejun Han, and even Jessica’s now-confirmed boyfriend DeAndre Brackensick present in central Florida. Their joy at attending the park is twofold. From one standpoint, it is an opportunity for the gang to visit a place that is effectively one of the happiest on earth, and fans seem to appreciate the opportunity to see some of the stars out and about. In addition, the contestants are all reportedly paid to appear at the attraction, record a few messages, and help to spread he word. It may sound strange, bu this is one of the more lucrative business ventures for the top ten straight out of the gate in addition to the money that they earn as a part of the tour.
There are some connections between the theme park attraction and the “American Idol” auditions, namely in that the successful singers in Orlando are given a priority opportunity to audition for the actual show. Thus far, season 9 star Aaron Kelly is the only person to make it deep on the show after trying out at Disney World, as he finished in fifth place back in season 9.
If you are a bit nervous about standing in long lines and dealing with the stress of the actual show, this is a good way to prepare for it in the event that you are spending some time in Disney World. After all, if things don’t work out, at least you can go drown your sorrows by riding Space Mountain.
