One member of the “Shark Tank” has decided to invest in his own skills as an actor — though considering the role that he has been announced to play, it really does not look like he is going to be stretching himself that much.
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is set to appear in an upcoming episode of “Necessary Roughness” airing in the winter, where he will be playing (surprise!) a wealthy billionaire trying to purchase the New York Hawks. The only twist here? He may have some additional motives for trying to buy the team that he does not let on at first.
Out of all the Sharks on the hit ABC reality show, Cuban’s participation here comes as the smallest of a surprise. Over the years, after all, he has shown a knack for doing things in front of the camera in addition to some behind-the-scenes work with his own network AXS TV (formerly known as HDNet). His past acting credits include a cameo on “Entourage,” and he has also appeared as himself on ESPN’s “Around the Horn” along with “Dancing with the Stars” (where he performed alongside Kym Johnson) and the short-lived series “The Benefactor” — where a number of people from the around the country tried to convince him that they were worthy of a rather large endowment.
Are you excited for this news, or do you prefer Cuban when he is overseeing a basketball team or fighting with Kevin O’Leary? Be sure and share your thoughts below!
