‘The Walking Dead’ season 3: AMC goes viral against Dish Network

We already know that the ongoing dispute between AMC and Dish Network has caused subscribers to miss out on new episodes of “Breaking Bad,” and if this battle ends up continuing to wage until October, we could see something else rather stunning happen — the highest-rated show on basic cable in “The Walking Dead” could miss out on an opportunity to shatter some more records.

With this in mind, the network has created a brand-new video with a rather simple message to it — find a way to get the zombies back. It’s a pretty creative idea that has the potential to spread like wildfire across the internet. In it, AMC  has sent out a number of people dressed like zombies to walk around New York City, and courtesy of some stellar makeup artists they do a great job scaring the living daylights out of some locals and tourists. The end slogan here? That zombies don’t belong on the streets — they belong on TV.

Unfortunately, there has been no movement on either side in the AMC – Dish battle for some time. The network has been looking for a larger carriage fee that goes along with the success of many of their original series including this one and “Breaking Bad.” However, Dish has been looking to keep things reasonably cost-effective and are not looking to break the bank for a network (or a family of networks that also includes IFC) that they feel is not worth the high price.

Do you like the video, and where do you stand on this whole debate? If this is not resolved soon, we wonder if someone is going to start to take a more serious look at a la carte programming — a way to give consumers the channels they want precisely without having to pay for ones they never watch.
