‘The X Factor’ notes: Melanie Amaro and Amelia Lily

For this new edition of “The X Factor” notes, we are starting things up with some pretty exciting news — music is on the way soon courtesy of Melanie Amaro!

In a post on Twitter, the American show’s first-ever champion has already revealed the cover art for her debut single “Don’t Fail Me Now,” and we will have an opportunity to hear the song 24 hours from now. It’s been a long wait to hear Melanie’s debut track, but the timing here is perfect in many ways. The September 12 return of Simon Cowell’s competition show is less than two months away, and he can use “The X Factor” to help promote Melanie’s music. Like “American Idol” or any other competition show, results shows are the perfect platform to promote past contestants — as a matter of fact, we would be stunned if we did not hear from Chris Rene, Rachel Crow, or Josh Krajcik at some point during season 2.

We like the title for Melanie’s single — now, we just have to wait for it to come out.

In other show related news, you can also check out below the music video for UK star Amelia Lily’s “You Bring Me Joy” — a song that is single-handedly trying to bring trance music back. The more you listen to it, the more addicting it gets, and it’s strange to think where this past season of the British show would have been had Frankie Cocozza not been booted so that we could have an opportunity to see Amelia bounce back from her undeserved early elimination.

The video was actually shot here in America, and it’s good stuff.
