In case you did not see the casting video that came out for “Game of Thrones” season 3 at Comic-Con earlier his month, British actor Clive Russell has been cast for one of the most-important roles from the George R.R. Martin books in Ser Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully. He is a skilled warrior and a key ally of Robb Stark’s, and is going to be particularly useful in the fight with King Joffrey and the other wicked members of the Lannister family.
So do we now have our first look at the character? Not necessarily, but we can at least say that there are some new set pieces hitting the internet that look to be very much emblematic of what the Blackfish would have at the Fortress of Riverrun where House Tully lies. The photos were uploaded by SpoilerTV, and while they have not been 100% confirmed they do appear to be pretty accurate to what we would expect to see — especially when it comes to attention to detail. (Don’t worry, readers who intend to remain surprised — we’re not going to spoil any plot details beyond this image.)
Season 3 production started up earlier this month in Northern Ireland, and is going to continue here for the rest of the year in addition to some other countries including Morocco and Iceland. Due to the tight-knit nature of filming, we’re understandably not going to find out too much about what is going on while producers are filming it, but the show as a whole is generally pretty good on sharing a few details here and there after some scenes are completed. Stay tuned…
For now, let’s just pose the following question — do you think this could be an accurate representation of the sort of decor you would see at Riverrun? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
