Now that Finn is gone from McKinley High School, Chord Overstreet’s character of Sam on “Glee” is getting ready to be the show’s #1 athletic alpha male. Will this translate to him finally getting into a long-term relationship that sticks?
After trying so hard to pursue a relationship with Mercedes following his return to the show last season — and failing at it in many ways — Chord teased in an interview with E! News that it is possible next year that we see his character living up the bachelor life — though he could still have a place in his heart for a number of his past relationships:
“I’m on the prowl at McKinley. I’m living up the bachelor-ness right now and I may take a trip up to Yale [to see Quinn]. I may go to California [to see Mercedes] … You never know. I could fall in love with Sue Sylvester and be completely hooked. That is what I’m rooting for.”
In other words, Chord’s playing coy — but that may also be because he has no idea himself just what is going to happen. The season premiere airing on September 13 is likely going to put the majority of is focus on Rachel and what is going on here in New York, and there will be plenty of time to cover life at McKinley High and how some of the students are coping with that environment. Sam’s love life may not be a hot topic until the second or third episode of the season, and even then it’s not entirely likely that the entire story will get resolved in one day.
Do you think Sam should stay single for a while, or is he better off in your mind trying to pursue something a little bit more long-term with either Mercedes or Quinn? We want to hear from you below!
