The casting information for “American Horror Story” season 2 just keeps coming. Only a matter of hours after we learned that Channing Tatum’s wife Jenna Dewan has been cast as the second half of “the lovers” alongside Adam Levine, TVLine is reporting that Franka Potente — best known for her work alongside Matt Damon in the first two Jason Bourne movies — has been cast to play a mysterious role for the Ryan Murphy production.
Specifically, it’s not altogether clear just what sort of part Potente is going to play, or how it will play into the story as a whole — all we know is that the actress is going to be (surprise!) playing a patient inside the 1960s insane asylum that is serving as the setting for this season. Her part is for the time being listed as a two-episode arc, which either suggests to us that she is not in the asylum for very long or that her character’s story runs its course pretty quickly and is not needed for the rest of the season.
By now, you may already know much of the rest of this impressive cast — in addition to Levine and Dewan, season 2 features such new faces as Mark Consuelos and Chris Zylka to go along with returning favorites Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson. There has been no confirmed premiere date yet, but considering that production is already under way on the season a start date this fall seems likely (probably in October given the themes that are present here).
What do you think about this casting, and is this starting to look like one of the most well-rounded groups that you have seen on a show in some time? We want to hear from you below! To check out even more of the latest “American Horror Story” news, be sure to check out the story over at this link.
