For his edition of “The X Factor” notes, we are putting our focus primarily on both one of the new judges here and America, the reigning champions from the British show, and also a performance from Cher Lloyd from Wednesday night’s “America’s Got Talent” results show.
Demi talks judging style – Would you believe that Demi Lovato may actually be tougher than Simon Cowell? Based on what the “Skyscraper” singer is currently saying about her judging style on the show’s season 2 auditions, it may very well be the case.
During a chat with MTV News, Lovato admits that she will be hard on contestants that have the capacity to improve, but she will also fight for artists who deserve to be there despite the opinions of some of the other judges:
“Well, you know, I try to be positive as much as I can … But sometimes you’ve just got to tell people that singing is not for them. When I hear a good singer, sometimes I critique them so that they can be better. And it’s not that they’re bad.
“But then when I hear someone that I absolutely love or someone that I believe in, I’ll stick up for them, even if everyone else votes no … I’m really honest on the show and sometimes I come off as the toughest judge. I guess you can say I speak my mind.”
“The X Factor” is now reportedly shooting the bootcamp phase of their show in Miami, and this will take the contestants on to the judges’ houses. From here, the lineup will be unveiled for the live show and we will know who Demi, Simon, Britney Spears, and L.A. Reid are going to be working with.
Little Mix’s new video – On Wednesday, the show’s reigning champs released their new music video for “Wings” — and while we wish that the song still had a little bit more of a melody to it, it’s hard to deny it’s driving dance beat. This is also he perfect video for the girl group, as it shows off each one of the girls individually in addition to as a group. For those who aren’t so familiar with their journey on the show, it’s a nice introduction.
Hear Cher Lloyd on “AGT” – For those of you who missed Cher’s performance of “Want U Back” from the results show, you can hear i below. She seemed to be a little nervous at first, but quickly got over that and looked to have plenty of fun on stage.
