The whole thing with the mayor bringing in another sheriff is crazy. Last I checked, Longmire ran for election and was elected. He is an ELECTED official, same as the mayor.The mayor has no authority over him. It would take a much higher authority to mess with an elected sheriff. Just to add onto that, Longmire is the elected sheriff for all of Absaroka County. The mayor is just the guy elected to manage one of the populations centers within that county. Sheriff trumps mayor.

Just to grumble further, a mayor in this small town would not have a limousine or a driver. Most likely he’d be in a pickup truck and driving it himself so as not to aggravate his voters. Also, unless something pretty formal is going on, the ones I’ve seen seem to avoid wearing suits as much as possible. Which brings up another grumble. There is NO WAY a bunch of Wyoming folk would vote a creep like this guy in as their mayor in the first place.
