‘Real Housewives’ alum joins Australian ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Could this work?

While the American version of “Dancing with the Stars” may not be looking for “Real Housewives” this season, that apparently does not go for the Australian version of the hit ABC show.

So which Bravo reality star is heading Down Under? Ironically, it’s one who is not even a part of the show itself anymore. According to a new report, former “Real Housewives of DC” cast member Michaele Salahi (best known for attending a White House state dinner in controversial fashion) is getting set to make an appearance on the show along with her husband Tareq. It’s unclear on if both of these two are going to be dancing — but if so, that is certainly going to dominate a good percentage of their roster.

Here’s a fun fact — while the vast majority of the people who have appeared on the Australian version of the show are not familiar to American audience, one former contestant is none other than Chris Hemsworth (who has gone on to star in the big-screen adaptation of “Thor”).

Since “DC” ended its run after only one season, Salahi also attempted to join “Celebrity Rehab” — though that ended up not working out.

Do you think these two could end up helping the Australian show be a success this year?
