We know that there is no way that a show is ever really going to be able to emulate the feeling that ABC had with “Lost,” but admittedly there is still something rather special about seeing some of the actors team up again, even if it is on other TV projects.
While this is hardly substantial enough to be considered a full-on “Lost” reunion, CBS has announced that a former key player on the show is going to be making a guest appearance on the second season of “Person of Interest.” Ken Leung — who you may otherwise know as Miles — is going to be joining series regular Michael Emerson on the September 27 premiere, though we unfortunately do not know just yet who he will be playing.
On a different note, CBS also announced that they have booked Emmy winner and former “Justified” star Margo Martindale — who was part of “A Gifted Man” last year prior to is cancellation — is also on board for a mysterious role of her own during the second episode of the season. Our initial reaction is that these two actors will somehow be involved in the names handed down by the machine, but wouldn’t it be nice if they were involved instead in some sort of long-term story that lasted for at least parts of the new season?
With executive producer Jonathan Nolan at the helm, “Person of Interest” became one of the breakout hits of the season last year, and also had the rare distinction of actually improving its audience as the season went on rather than staring strong and leveling off later. This all bodes well for season 2 to be a breakout year.
