Remember the rumors that Kate Gosselin could become the next “Bachelorette”? While that is not entirely true, the former “Kate Plus 8” star is apparently looking to dive back deep into the dating pool courtesy of a reality TV show all her own.
According to E! News, Gosselin is currently pitching a show to networks that will be largely about her search for love, and trying to find the right man to be a match for her massive family. No network has picked up the show just yet, but a source close to Kate told the website the following:
“She is ready to get back into the dating game … She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past. She’s excited, this is a chance to start something new.”
Granted, the only way she is going to be able to start something new is if she can first find a network that is willing to bite on what will very much be a major gamble. “Kate Plus 8” has been off of the air now for over a year and a half, and TLC had actually canceled it when the ratings no longer matched the cost of keeping the show running with a more expensive female lead than some of their other shows. The only hope Kate (who also was on “Dancing with the Stars” during the peak of her celebrity in the spring of 2010) really has with this show is that some new viewers may be interested in the prospect of seeing how she handles dating when she also has eight children to take care of.
Do you think any network will take a gamble on a Kate dating show, and is there a part of you who would be tempted to watch it even if you gave up on the “Kate Plus 8” series? Personally, we are still hoping that Kate finds a way to get on another currently-established reality show like “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
