‘The Glee Project’ preview: Ali Stroker draws praise in the gym

We have done our best to recognize the growth of Ali Stroker on “The Glee Project” in some recent editions of our show rankings, and on Tuesday night’s new episode she is going to draw even more praise courtesy of casting director Robert Ulrich and music video director Erik White. Why? Let’s just say that the girl just won’t give up.

As we wrote about last week, the remaining contestants are going to be rocking out to a version of “Eye of the Tiger” for a video set in the gym … but the kicker here is that it is going to all be done in one take. Ali has the toughest challenge out of everyone in that she closes out the video by trying to score in the basketball hoop. The problem? She can’t seem to sink the basket to save her life.

While some people would have probably grown frustrated and given up, Ali actually came up with the idea to have some of her fellow cast members hoist her into the air at the end of the video. The only sad thing here is that we’re not sure she ever actually ended up hitting it in the same take, as in the video we see a cut right before the basket goes in.

At the end of the day, though, this video is really about how Ali has the right sort of spirit to be on “Glee” — and how the producers are taking notice of this. Within a few weeks she has become a favorite to win this whole competition, and with her current momentum she could make it all the way to the finale.
