In addition to the 2012 Teen Choice Awards handing out a few trophies (which you can read more about here), the show actually had a trio of memorable performances. While two of them are acts that are currently tearing up the charts, the other was from a band that most of the audience barely even remembers from their childhood.
No Doubt – The group recently united for the first time in years, and for their first television performances of their new single “Settle Down,” they focused mostly on the music rather than anything else. Well done.
Flo Rida – The rapper gave about the same sort of performance that you would expect on this show. It was loud, fun, and pretty similar to everything else we have seen from the guy over the years.
Pauly D – While it wasn’t so much of a full-length performance, we have to give a shout-out to the “Jersey Shore” star for his DJing skills over the course of the show.
Justin Bieber – In performing his hit single “As Long As You Love Me,” Justin was joined by everyone from backup dancers to Big Sean, and it was enough to make pretty much every teenage girl in attendance completely and totally lose their minds. It’s got to be hard for Bieber to have the same sort of energy for them day in and day out, but he manages to make it happen.
Carly Rae Jepsen – In what should be a surprise to no one, Carly closed out the show by performing a song that pretty much every teen in America is familiar with at this point “Call Me Maybe.” It was fun, but secretly there was a part of us hoping that Owl City would come out and help her perform their new single “Good Time.”
Which one of these performances was your favorite? We’ll have more news here later, so be sure and check back! If you want to check out some more red-carpet coverage of the show, be sure to head on over to this link for highlights.
