The 2012 Teen Choice Awards are just about here! While we wish that Fox had actually made their red carpet available to fans the way in which many others are, we are at least going to do our best to point out some of the fashion highlights that we are seeing and hearing talked about from across the internet.
Longer hair – Despite it being summer, growing out your hair is apparently a tradition that is back in style. So far, two people that we have seen showing off some longer locks this year include Joe Jonas and Rebecca Black (Who has also dyed the tips of her hair red.
In going along with some hair changes, “Glee’s” Lea Michele may have lightened the ends of her hair … but that may also just be the way in which the sun is shining down on them. Selena Gomez is also someone with a similar sort of look going on.
Keeping it simple – Ian Somerhalder (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”) are just two of the guys who have opted for more of a laid-back look for the red carpet this year, going with muted colors and skinny jeans rather than something loud and over-the-top. Considering the casual nature of this show, it’s nice to see them show up in something that very much has a summer feel to it.
The daring – Kevin McHale arrived to the show wearing what looked to be a strange soccer shirt and giraffe print pants. Meanwhile, Justin Kirk arrived with the monkey from “The Hangover.”
As for host Demi Lovato, we kind of like how her outfit makes her look like a fierce honeybee. Taylor Swift went daring in a different way, choosing to sport a white mini that showed off more back than we are accustomed to seeing out of her.
The lovely – Somerhalder’s girlfriend Nina Dobrev clearly overshadowed him in a turquoise mini. From the standpoint of the guys, Jackson Rathbone is winning with a simple button up shirt that leaves just enough buttons open.
Be sure to check back later in the night, as we’re going to have more highlights from the show, including the winners and some key performances. You can also check out more highlights by clicking on the image below, and the full list of nominations is here.
