Although HBO released a video last week detailing a score of new characters appearing on “Game of Thrones” season 3, Ramsay Snow was not included on the list. However, we have some solid information coming in now suggesting that the fan favorite may have finally been cast for the show.
According to fansite Winter Is Coming, there is mounting evidence that former “Misfits” star Iwan Rheon has managed to snag the part. Although Ramsay was never shown on camera during season 2, his name was mentioned a few times — in particular by Robb Stark, who sent the child of Roose Bolton up to Winterfell in order to try and reclaim the city from Theon Greyjoy. (As everyone already knows at this point, Theon was not exactly successful when it came to defending the city from attackers.)
It’s not entirely clear just how big of a role this character will have on the show, but we’re sure they will find a good place for him considering his popularity in the George R.R. Martin books. Somehow, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been exceptional thus far in balancing the show’s enormous cast, even when they have to make additions to it such as they did in season 2 with Stannis Baratheon and Brienne.
In case all of this information was not enough of a dead giveaway, season 3 is currently in production across several parts of Europe, and is scheduled to premiere on HBO on Sunday, March 30. We still have a while to wait, but the good thing about this show is that they are exceptional in allowing us many opportunities to view preview clips and behind-the-scenes featurettes of the show even in the thick of production.
