Usually when you look at a hit TV show, you have a cast of people who are desperate to keep their characters alive for as long as humanly possible. Not only do they want more work, but they also become invested in their alter egos and want to see them have a happy ending.
With that in mind, it’s actually refreshing to see a different sort of philosophy play out with one of the stars of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Speaking to reporters recently at a press conference celebrating the 100th issue of the Robert Kirkman comic, here is what Sarah Wayne Callies had to say about her character of Lori in regards to her future:
“I’ve said from the beginning, not only am I OK with Lori dying but I think she has to … I’ve played this character with an eye toward an end.”
For those of you who have read the Kirkman series, you are already more than familiar as to the future of Lori’s storyline — we won’t spoil whether or not she lives or dies there for those of you wanting to stay engaged with the show, but regardless the AMC product has always followed its own wavelength. The decision when it comes to Lori at the end of the day will be handled by showrunner Glen Mazzara, and it is just one of the many characters who should be fascinating to watch as the show shifts towards a prison setting for its extended third season.
“The Walking Dead” will return with all-new episodes on Sunday, October 14, and we will of course have more details every step of the way. What do you want to see happen to Lori? To check out some more news about the villains this coming season, be sure to head on over to this link.
