I couldn't said it better myself, Jill, very insightful post.

I agree, these are important nuances which makes it all real and relatable.

I think we are extremely lucky with the casting on this show.. Caitlin and Sam are doing amazing job.

I was surprised and excited to see in the previews that Jamie is backed into a corner and a major stramash is coming! I love when these two go at each other and their acting muscles are flexed and showcased. It's easier to watch knowing they, of course, work through it . . . [nuttin like make-up sex, after all]. Nothing spells "marriage" like adversity, and I believe the timing couldn't be better ~ more true to reality. After 20 years apart, there is so much loss, pain, loneliness and change that must be aired and healed before they can get on with rebuilding their relationship. The part I enjoyed most in Creme de Menth was when the confrontation began -- Jamie's hurt over his children was obvious and Claire's distress about Jamie's cavalier attitude toward lying was a great introduction to what's to come [oh goodie]. I always find it fascinating to watch how human nature plays out with outward manifestations of hurt/pain/guilt. Mostly it presents itself as angry lashing out, deflection, accusing -- all in an attempt to protect the vulnerable self. What's so hopeful and endearing about Jamie and Clair is that they always [thought circuitously sometimes] arrive back at the absolute truth that they cannot live without each other. Sigh ........

That attebtion to detail and care what makes the show extra special.

I haven't read the books so to me it doesn't really matter if it will deviate a little.

I just hope that all the devoted book readers would not crucify them for this decision ?
