First it is ABC and in my opinion they wronged the Castle cast. Second Hawley made some IMO big mistakes with season 8 by taking the show down a path that led to its demise. Nathan Fillion is a good and talented actor. If the role does not do justice to his many talents I will not remain a fan of the program.
