Sam was Wonderful in so many scenes, but if I had to choose, 1 A. MALCOME his overall emotions were outstanding, and the awkwardness of seeing his wife after 20yrs just blew me away
2 I have to say the Reckening, his ability to get his wife back and his emotions after they argued about her to stay put. And the gut wrenching effect on him as a man after rescuing her, and him saying in all honesty it was tearing his guts out..BRAVO!!?

I'm with Connie...Of Lost Things is my epitome episode with Sam Heughan giving a nuanced and physically eloquent portrayal of a loyal friend, devoted father and a man recovering himself but yet again leaving behind his most beloved persons. I find that while many actors can portray the emotion of a scene, Sam takes the viewer on a journey moving through a range of emotional states on the way to the dominant emotion of the scene. This is truly brilliant acting, showing a deep study of the part, strong understanding of the character he is portraying, as well as inner awareness of where he has come from and where he is going to. Very rare in TV actors who often rush to the climax of the scene.

Hard to pick performances from any one episode but Of lost things is my favorite. Hope the Emmy committee considers this show and it's actors. They seem to have their favorites year after year and don't look beyond them.
