Katy Perry’s parents finally accept Russell Brand into family

Katy Perry has no more family drama

Katy Perry’s parents, Keith and Mary Hudson raised the ‘California Gurls’ singer in a pretty strict household as both parents are Christian pastors, so it’s no wonder that they may have had some trouble letting go when their daughter started dating.

Perry battled her parents on her choice of mate when she first got together with now husband, Russell Brand, but the singer says that things have changed since their marriage.

Mary was first concerned with Russell’s past addictions and she tried to urge him towards God, saying;

“Russell must go towards the light and not toward the darkness. Only God can take the very worst person and turn them around for good.  You just have to see how the Lord’s will is done. I mean, how many times have your kids disappointed you so profoundly you wanted to get up from the chair and knock them out?”

Since the couple’s wedding last October, the in-laws have accepted Russell into their family and Katy has said;

“It’s good my family and my parents have finally let go of the leash.”

Perry’s father, Keith, has now said that he couldn’t have asked for a “better son-in-law”, now that he has seen how happy Russell makes his daughter.  Keith said;

“I could not have wished for a better son-in-law in Russell. He makes my girl so happy. She’s so happy and he makes her light up. They’re going to be just fine. You couldn’t see two [expletive] happier people.”

They are finally all one big happy family!
