I love this show ... Michelle Dockery has done a masterful job in putting the image of Lady Mary well and truly out of my mind. However, the casting of Jacob continues to confound. The young actor is wonderful but is not bi- racial. Is this a big deal? Yes. Anyone with any knowledge of biology knows that Jacob, given his parentage, could not possibly look like the actor cast. This same kind of issue was prevalent in the Cosby show. African-American viewers, such as myself, wonder why " Hollywood" casting directors are either ignorant of or do not care to let the above reality inform their decisions. The worst case scenario is that they have assumed that " black" viewers are not a part of their target audience and ,therefore, the issue has no relevance.
As a example: I am a huge Outlander fan, loved Downtown Abbey, and have never watched one episode of Power. There are millions of us who defy the stereotype of " what black folks watch"...
I will continue to watch Good Behavior... But, with some diminished enthusiasm.
