If episodes 115-116 were the first ones to reveal Sam’s brilliant talent, season 3 belongs to him -so far- without ever underestimating Tobias’s great talent or Caitriona’s. extremely promising one.
Although episode 4 was more multi expressions challenging, episodes 301 and 302, were very demanding imo. Sam’s “silent scenes”, are heartbreaking. It was easy to have been over or under played spoiling the importance of the facts and emotions attached to them. But Sam, navigated himself perfectly through, giving all their depth deserving performance. He used everything he had, body motion, or stillness, face expressions, voice maneuvers.
I fail to comprehend why Outlander is so snubbed by the Emmys. They have awarded much lesser shows than this wonderful production. Because it’s true, that Outlander is very detailed, very carefully produced show, in any every way.
And although Tobias and Caitriona have already been nominated at least for a Golden Globe, everyone seems to turn a blind eye when it comes to Sam.
The man, is definitely not just a photogenic face, he’s extremely talented and he’s proved it, time and time again, at least in this show.

I keep repeating myself.

I agree, Sam is phenomenal this season.

The show is outstanding and seriously underrated. I’m aware it is doing well in ratings but my hope that more and more people will discover it.

Sam should have had an Emmy for Wentworth in season one. But that being said he’s been off the charts spectacular this season. Brilliant performances by all.
