As if things were not bad enough for Dean already on “Supernatural,” he is now also going to have to deal with this while in purgatory early on in season 8 — a vampire who is far more dangerous than what we traditionally see on another CW series.
Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, Jensen Ackles (who is the man behind his famous character) opened up about this new addition that he is going to meet in this world in Benny, who is set to be played by former “Battlestar Galactica” star Ty Olsson:
“He’s not a good guy … [He] stands to pose a bit of an issue for Dean because maybe there are things that Dean has hidden that he doesn’t want to tell Sam that happened in purgatory.”
For those looking fore more details on Benny, all we can say for the time being is that the character is going to be recurring throughout at least the early stages of season 8, and despite his less-than-kind demeanor, he is also going to be partly responsible for helping Dean escape from purgatory.
This is set to be a big season for “Supernatural” — it’s the first time since 2009 that the show has aired on a night other than Fridays, and it is part of a lineup with “Arrow” that The CW is hoping can do for them what the one-two punch of “Supernatural” with “Smallville” was back before the Tom Welling superhero show came to a close. Let’s hope that Olsson’s character gives us one more reason to be excited.
