I’ve read and loved the books, but Duncan Lacroix has brought something special to this role (besides expressive eyebrows and a great laugh): he’s given this character heart and humor. His role’s love and protection for Jamie and Claire has given them both a parent they no longer have-but really need. I’d welcome him being written into the script as long as possible, and please give him a lovely woman of his own! ?

A happy life for Murtagh in Scotland? I doubt it. Notice where the prisoners other than Jamie were being sent as Ardsmuir was being closed. If you’re a book series reader, it made perfect sense. And if not, it’s still an interesting clue….

Murtagh is not a big presence in the books, so from the beginning of the TV show Murtagh’s character is different than the books. I would love to think that Murtagh will be the “Duncan Innes” in the TV show and be with Jamie and Claire for many years to come.
