While we are still trying to get over the fact that Damian McGinty is not going to be returning for “Glee” season 4, there are some new faces coming to McKinley High School that do have some connections to people that we have already come to know and love. One of them, as we have previously reported, is Noah Puckerman’s little brother.
While we still do not necessarily know too many details about this new face, executive producer Ian Brennan has told E! News that the character’s name is Jake, and that like his older brother he has some serious bad boy tendencies.
Personally, we would have actually been more interested in the character were he a nerd or something a bit unexpected. We don’t necessarily need to see the show tread on ground that is already familiar, and the hope now is that there is a reason behind the mean streak that is different than it was for Puck. Based on the fact that New Directions needs some new members to add to the current core of Artie, Sam, Blaine, and Joe, we have a feeling that he will be a part of Will Schuster’s music group at some point pretty early on.
As for where we will see the original Puckerman, we know Mark Salling is going to return in some capacity this coming season — but beyond that, his story is pretty unclear. Did he move to Los Angeles in hopes o expanding his pool-cleaning business? If he did, it could make storytelling difficult for him since he is isolated so much from the rest of the McKinley High gang. The only other person out there could be Amber Riley’s Mercedes, and this is not necessarily a given.
