In just one week, the new season of “Bachelor Pad” is going to premiere on ABC — but even before that show starts with its swim trunks, bikinis, and random hook-ups, we already have plenty of talk when it comes to a romance that was reportedly started up during the show.
For over a week now, there has been talk that Emily Maynard’s token villain Kalon McMahon has started up a relationship with Ben Flajnik’s runner-up Lindzi Cox (read our full story here), and speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview while at the recent “Bachelorette: Men Tell All” taping, Kalon certainly didn’t do anything to deflect the rumors:
“Knowing what I know now, [going on the show] was one of the better decisions I’ve ever made … I am so happy that I decided to participate in Bachelor Pad and I met someone really special, so I’m really excited.”
Kalon established a bad reputation on Emily’s season, and in particular sparked plenty of controversy when he said that Emily’s daughter Ricki was “baggage” during a scene that was never actually captured by the show’s cameras. He apologized to this season’s leading lady during the special, but she was not buying it — saying that the apology was disingenuous and put out there mostly to improve his TV reputation.
So what does Lindzi see in him? In the extended trailer (which you can see here) that was shown for “Bachelor Pad” during the special, you can hear Lindzi specifically acknowledge that most of America “hates” her new beau — however, she doesn’t seem to care very much. We don’t know how well these two actually fare in the competition, but it should be noted that they could be the first ones out and still have spent enough time together to be in a relationship long-term.
Do you think that there is any way that Lindzi and Kalon actually manage to go the distance?
