On Thursday, August 18, Demi Lovato is going to finally have her much-deserved moment in the spotlight during the VH1 Do Something Awards. This ceremony is set to mark the first time ever that the 18-year old has gotten the opportunity to perform new single “Skyscraper” live, and it could be the moment that helps launch the song from being a powerful anthem for her fans to a genuine hit.
Writing in a new post on Twitter, here is what Demi had to say about her personal excitement for the moment:
“Can’t wait for the Do Something Awards! Who’s excited to see me perform #Skyscraper?!?!”
The VH1 broadcast (which will be hosted by “Glee” star Jane Lynch) is meant to honor some of the most inspiring people and celebrities around the world, and for that reason Demi’s ballad about inner strength seems like a perfect hit.
For those of you watching the airplay for the song, it recently broke past the 300-spin threshold on Top 40 radio — and could soon end up working her way into the top 50 if she is able to keep up the forward momentum.
Are you planning to watch the Do Something Awards just to check out Demi’s performance? Demi recently had her song used in a new promo for “Prime Suspect,” and you can check that out below this article.
