Even though “Game of Thrones” is just now starting up production on its third season, a number of the actors working on the show have already been lucky enough to check out the scripts. While that doesn’t necessarily lead to them being kind enough to share all of the finer details concerning what is going to happen, we at least have a better sense of what the story is going to be like for the third season — and if you thought it was complicated the first two years, get ready for your head to spin.
Speaking to MTV News in a new interview about the season, here is what Richard Madden (otherwise known as Robb Stark) had to say about some of the stories coming in his direction this year:
“I’ve read six [episodes]; I can’t wait to read the last four … It’s much more complicated. Season one, [Robb] was pushed and pulled and he was reacting to situations. Season two, he was driving the action. And then season three, we’re going to go into him having to deal with decisions he’s made and decisions that he makes during the season this year, story lines that affect tens of thousands of people that are his army and his men.”
What was interesting about Robb’s story to begin with for season 2 was that in the accompanying George R.R. Martin book, everything that happens with the character actually happens via hearsay, as he is not one of the show’s vantage points. However, that changed for the show when producers wanted to make sure they could keep Madden on the screen, and the narrative structure of the television medium does not allow or the same sort of storytelling.
Now that Robb is married and seems to have defied his mother and a past promise, what do you think is going to happen to him next? To check out the new castings for season 3, be sure to check out the story here.
