For the first time she was placed under arrest following a drunken party in the streets during the fourth season of “Jersey Shore,” Deena Cortese is speaking out about what happened to her that fateful day — which also included her getting heckled by a number of people while out on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights.
Speaking in a new interview with the New York Post, Deena started things off by almost suggesting that some other people around her were to blame for convincing her to party and drink:
“I drink and have my ‘meatball’ days … I keep up my meatball ways, even though sometimes I don’t want to. But everybody loves me that way.”
At the end of the day, Deena did admit that she was to blame for what happened, and she is going to have to watch herself if she wants to avoid something like this in the future:
“I realized, just because I’m on Jersey Shore doesn’t mean I can’t get in trouble … I was like, ‘I have to get my [bleep] together.’ I couldn’t make it in jail.”
The good news for Deena is that it looks as though she is not going to face any sort of long-term ramifications as a result of this arrest. As a first-time offender, she merely has to pay a small fine, and has to try and stay out trouble to avoid a longer sentence coming her way. Her penalty was ultimately less than what Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi faced after her own drunken meltdown back in season 3 — but then again, Deena did not curse at police or try and resist them in the same way.
