We have already shared a few preliminary thoughts from Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz concerning the eighth season of “Bones” at Comic-Con, and now we have some more details coming in straight from the show’s panel.
So what are we learning now? Basically, it looks as though family — and in particular parents — are going to be playing a key role throughout the upcoming episodes, which are currently described as being “darker” than what we have seen from most of the series so far. Executive producer Stephen Nathan claimed during the panel Friday that we are going to finally meet Booth’s mother at some point this year, and he also added rather unsurprisingly that we will be seeing plenty more of Brennan’s father:
“We’d like to have him come back periodically through the next season … It was a big deal for Brennan to go on the lam with her father.”
Of course, whenever Brennan does return to the Jeffersonian parents really aren’t going to matter so much, as she is going to have to contend with a man in Booth is not going to be happy in the slightest over her disappearance. Will he understand it to some extent? Sure, but there’s a difference between understanding something and accepting that it happened.
For those trying to get all of their premiere dates set on their calendars, the new season of “Bones” is going to premiere on Fox Monday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m. Easter time prior to the launch of the new network show in “The Mob Doctor.” (Be sure to head over here if you want to check out the rest of the Fox schedule.)
How long do you think it is going to take Booth to get over what happened with Brennan?
