‘Game of Thrones’ spoilers: Check out the season 3 castings!

Game of Thrones” tried out an interesting strategy on Friday when it came to announcing some of their new cast members for their upcoming season — rather than making a number of tiny announcements about each of the new characters and actors who are going to be joining the show for season 3, they instead showed off a reel of sorts for all of their new faces during their Comic-Con panel.

Some of these names we have already reported about, but here are all of the people referenced in the video — which you can see below:

Clive Russell as Bryndon “The Blackfish” Tully

Kerry Ingram as Shireen Baratheon

Tara Fitzgerald as Selyse Baratheon

Paul Kaye as Thoros of Myr

Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Jojen Reed

Ellie Kendrick as Meera Reed

Richard Dormer as Berie Dondarrion

Nathalie Emannuel as Missandrei

Tobias Menzies as Edmure Tully

Anton Lesser as Qyburn

Phillip McGinley as Anguy

Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane

Mackenzie Crook as Orell

Unless you are familiar with British television, most of these names are probably not people who you are infinitely familiar with in any way — however, we continue to respect this show for their tradition of casting based on the role rather than the name that is attached to the actor. Then again, this show is one that really does not need to stunt-cast in any way. We already have a devoted fan base here who trusts the showrunenrs to recreate the books of George R.R. Martin on the small screen, and thus far they have ot great success and acclaim.

Production is already under way on season 3, which will be filmed across Europe (plus part of Africa in Morocco) and is set to officially premiere on March 30, 2013. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were not present at the panel due to their work on the new season overseas.
