One of the joys of Comic-Con is getting to see some extended trailers for some of your favorite shows, and the sneak peek at “The Walking Dead” season 3 is a doozy. You can check out the full trailer in the video box below, and it contains plenty of moments that are going to have you lifelessly crawling towards your TV set when the show returns on October 14 with new episodes.
First things first, we have more of Danai Gurira’s Michonne featured than ever before. We also have David Morrissey’s first take on The Governor, and it is every bit as frightening as you would hope. He almost reminds us a bit of what Russell Edgington from “True Blood” would be like if he was even more backwoodsy, politically-driven, and wanting to torture his victims even more before eating him alive. The show has finally come up with a villain that we can distinguish from the undead, and it may take the quality of every episode up another notch in terms of awesomeness.
Setting-wise, we also have our first extended look at the prison that will be the home for many of the characters this season — they certainly enter the place with hopes that it could be a potential safe haven, but that is not exactly turning out the way that they would like. The walkers are still after them, and while they have some hiding spaces, the horde shows no signs of slowing down at all.
We won’t touch too much on some of the other cool little moments in the trailer, but let’s just say that there are helicopters, relatively normal-looking towns, and even at one point a song. Sound appetizing? It really should.
