The most superficial of fans took one look at a guy with gray hair and refused to watch. Others watched but quickly declared the more mature and nuanced story telling “too confusing” and switched off. I’ve no doubt those “fans” will eventually see how truly wrong they were.

As for future Doctor Who, I’ll be happy to follow Peter Capaldi to any and everything he does next. Sadly, I doubt he’ll do any more Doctor Who for many years to come.
