Outlander season 3 notes: Caitriona Balfe – Cesar Domboy videos
The first story tease that we’re going to break down is one of the latest ones from Starz, one beautifully displayed as a means of bringing the Diana Gabaldon story to life. It’s beautifully-set, and it features Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in the midst of a discussion with Bree (Sophie Skelton). When we said that Bree would probably have a larger role in the upcoming season 3 of the show, we weren’t kidding! This is just an appetizer for what’s to come.
As for the meat of this video, so much of it is rooted within its ghost-story feel. Claire obviously is haunted by the spirit of the one she loves most. She feels his loss, and wonders if there is a way that she can feel whole again. It’s the emotional resonance that stands out here, since you see what drives her and what’s held her back at the same time. This is a show that thrives within emotional complexity, and having Bree around is important not just as an extension of Claire’s soul — it also gives her a true foil, someone who understands her even if she cannot experience her reality at the time of this scene.
Quick message to Starz: Can we have more of these? This is very much the part of Outlander we love the most.

A new Cesar Domboy video
Outlander earlier today also released a new video featuring the new actor behind Fergus speaking with Leanne Aguilera of Entertainment Tonight — and this one’s fun! We haven’t seen all that much of Domboy so far in the season 3 promotional campaign (we know that we’d love to speak with him at some point), and this gives you a small window into his sense of humor and his charm. The game may be short, but it’s very much sweet and fun to see him talk about the show in a general sense, while sharing a few details about his life in the process.
Obviously, Domboy doesn’t say much at all about his role, but it’s hard to when you don’t want to give anything away. Just know that you’ll be seeing a good bit of older Fergus throughout season 3. He’s a significant part of the story that is coming in a variety of ways.
Oh, and also remember that Outlander season 3 is premiering on Starz September 10 — can you believe that we’re only slightly more than 20 days away from the show coming back on the air?
