#3, yes, yes, yes!! I’ve been waiting three seasons now to find out what the hell happened to Slattery’s family. And then they just finished running him through an emotional wringer, then a battle, then a national coup, with no processing time at all, or none that they’ve bothered to show at this point. And now with Tom leaving the Navy and what all, Mike’s last vestige of a safety net is gone. No human, no matter how stoic and macho they might be, is going to get through all that without a blink. I realize Adam Baldwin can convey three pages of dialogue and exposition with little more than a raised eyebrow and a grunt (which is why I love watching his work), but come on–if there isn’t some sort of “snap back” to all this shortly into Season 4, it’s not only a waste of the talent they’ve got, it’s a disservice to the show as a whole.
